Personal information

What information is collected?

When you connect to our Wi-Fi network, we can't see your mobile number, your photos, your messages, your contacts, or any other personal data.

The only data we can see is basic device info, which we keep a record of. This includes your device name (e.g. "Matt's iPhone"), your MAC address (a unique code which allows us to block your device if you use the network inappropriately) and your manufacturer and model (e.g. Apple iPhone 6).

How we use data

We will only use the data we collect to manage the Wi-Fi network and carry out the terms of this agreement. This data is never merged with other personal information (such as your name or contact details) and will never be shared with anyone outside of the charity unless we are required to do so by law.

Take care

Security

Woodlea Wi-Fi is open to all visitors. Like any public Wi-Fi, it shouldn't be treated as a secure network. Any data you send or receive could potentially be accessed by someone else using the network, so please be careful how much personal information you give to websites, apps or messages.

Content

Vision is not responsible for the content that you may access on the internet while using Woodlea Wi-Fi. We also can't be held responsible for the security or accuracy of any information you send or receive while using our network.

Access

We'll do our best to keep everything working, but we can't guarantee access 100% of the time. We will occasionally need to carry out routine maintenance which might disrupt the network, and can also stop the service completely for any reason at any time. We also reserve the right, if necessary, to block or restrict specific devices or users.

Legal stuff

Losses

Vision can't be held responsible for any loss that occurs while using our Wi-Fi network, including loss of money, loss of opportunity, loss of data (including damage or corruption), or any other direct or indirect loss of any kind.

Inappropriate or unauthorised access

If you don't keep to this agreement, you can't hold Vision (or anyone connected to the charity) responsible for any liabilities, claims, losses, damages, costs or other expenses (including legal fees) that may arise as a result of improper, inappropriate or unauthorised use of our Wi-Fi network.

Our right to enforce this agreement

This agreement is governed by English law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in this agreement can restrict or limit our legal responsibilities as a Registered Charity. If any of the terms shown above are found to be unlawful or unenforceable, this won't affect our right to enforce the rest of this agreement.
